This is a quote taken from the Navy Seals. This can apply to military supplies – i.e. make sure you bring two of everything you’ll need on a mission, because you can count on one of them getting messed up some way. But it also applies to life. Make sure you’ve got extra cushion built in to your life in many different ways. Financial cushion. Time cushion. Energy cushion. You need to make sure you’ve got plenty of reserves with you as you take on the world, otherwise you run the real risk of exceeding your true limits and facing the corresponding consequences of not having anything left in the tank when it matters most. Two is one and one is none. Make sure you build in cushion.
