TL;DR: Most of life isn’t that complicated. Arrive on time. Say please and thank you. Do what you say you’re going to do. Finish what you start.
From my earliest memories my father shared a few key principles for success in business and in life. They are simple and timeless, and the older I get, the more they seem to resonate. Most things in life are not that complicated. Most of life is about showing up and doing the work. These four principles capture that perfectly:
- Arrive on time
- Say please and thank you
- Do what you say you’re going to do
- Finish what you start
If you can do those four things, consistently, then I believe you’re ahead of 95% of people out there today. Greatness is less about hitting a grand slam, and more about showing up consistently every day, treating people with respect, and delivering on your promises. Follow these four principles, put in the work, act with integrity, and I’m confident good things will result.
To your success!
